Mohammed Hafez

Mohammed M Hafez, PhD (born 1970), is the author of Suicide Bombers in Iraq: The Strategy and Ideology of Martyrdom.[1] Previously, he authored Why Muslims Rebel[2] and Manufacturing Human Bombs.[3] He received his PhD from the London School of Economics and Political Science, studying under the late Fred Halliday.

Mohammed M Hafez is also the author of numerous book chapters and journal articles on Islamic movements, political violence, and suicide bombers, including: Armed Islamist Movements and Political Violence in Algeria; The Alchemy of Martyrdom: Jihadi Salafism and Debates over Suicide Bombings in the Muslim World; Martyrdom Mythology in Iraq; Suicide Terrorism in Iraq; Do Targeted Assassinations Work?; and Rationality, Culture, and Structure in the Making of Suicide Bombers.
